Wolfgang is senior veterinary surgeon and founder of the Virginia Water Veterinary Clinic. He qualified both at Hanover and Oslo Veterinary School in 1989 and received two years later his doctor degree. After working for a short period of time at a veterinary clinic in Germany, he moved to England, where he worked for six years as assistant and later as senior veterinary surgeon at a small animal clinic in Camberley, Surrey, before he established the Virginia Water Veterinary Clinic in 1999.
His fields of special interests in companion animal medicine are orthopaedics, oncology, cardiology and feline medicine. Wolfgang has been chairman of the British Small Animal Veterinary Association in Surrey and Sussex from 2004 -2007. He is a member of BSAVA's Regional South East Committee and International Affairs Committee and a regular organiser of continuing education courses for veterinary surgeons. From May 2009 until April 2014 Wolfgang was the UK Director of FECAVA, the Federation of European Companion Animal Veterinary Associations and in September 2011 he was elected to the Board. After serving as the Honorary Secretary for several years he was elect as FECAVA President at the joint World Small Animal Congress in Copenhagen in September 2017.
He writes newspaper articles on companion animal related matters and has for several years been running courses on First Aid for pet owners and professional pet sitters. He has numerous times been nominated as "PetPlan UK Vet of the Year", the last time in 2017.
